Having lost their status and credibility five years after covering New York City with marshmallow, the once-famous Ghostbusters find themselves struggling to keep afloat, working odd jobs. However, when Dana Barrett and her baby have yet another terrifying encounter with the paranormal, it's up to Peter Venkman and his fearless team of supernatural crime-fighters to save the day.
"The success of the legendary first installment of 'Ghostbusters' was always going to be hard to beat, but if there was a way to try without completely failing, it was bringing back the same team on- and off-screen. 'Ghostbusters II' brings back director Ivan Reitman with the entire original cast and a script co-written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis that, no, is not as funny as the first one, but at least manages to put the protagonists in tight spots and present original ideas. Here we see the Ghostbusters again up against the ropes, having lost their reputation after saving New York. However, they must get back into action when Dana (Sigourney Weaver) calls for their help after experiencing a new paranormal occurrence."
