Looks at the deadly Australian bushfires of 2019-2020, known as 'Black Summer'. An exploration of what happened as told from the perspective of victims of the fires, activists and scientists.

"This documentary recounts the deadly Australian bushfires that marked the country between 2019 and 2020 - a period which even received the morbid name of "black summer". The film is an exploration of what happened from various different perspectives, from the victims of the fires, activists and scientists. In addition, the documentary touches on the political structure of what happened, also creating a discussion about climate change and other environmental issues. By portraying a great tragedy, the production is able to chill with the harshness of reality. Some data from the "black summer" are terrifying: the fires killed and/or injured more than 3 billion animals, as well as destroyed 3 thousand homes. The percentage of forests that were burned is 21% of Australia's total. A sombre reflection on the destructive power of fire and the human impact on nature."
