"An intriguing story about how memory and hallucinations intertwine to compose a trauma. 'Elyse' revolves around Elyse (Lisa Pepper), a woman who is lost in her own mind and can't make sense of what is real. She ends up interned in a psychiatric institution under the care of Dr. Lewis (Anthony Hopkins). The script leaves us just as confused as the protagonist, which is very interesting because we can't identify either what she is imagining or what really happened. Hopkins is excellent, as always, and Pepper too, the whole cast does a good job. Curiosity: the direction is by Stella Hopkins, Anthony's wife - in her debut in the role."
