"Jason Blum and his production company, Blumhouse (of successes such as 'A Night of Crime' and 'Paranormal Activity') sign a classic horror movie. In it, a couple and their daughter go on vacation to a secluded house on a bayou (which means a small river or stream). Everything seems wonderful, but they end up trapped with a psychopathic couple. Despite the clichéd script and even tighter budget than other Blumhouse films, the movie has well-developed philosophical aspects and the tension, which is well packaged by the rhythm. 'A House on the Bayou' manages to be a quite honest and decent horror production, with good performances. In short, it is a movie that is worth it for the story construction."
