Why watch the movie The Birthday Cake?
"A family of mobsters, one of its members trying to keep away, only to be dragged into the violence of their questionable familial ties. The premise of 'El cumpleaños mortal' ('The Birthday Cake') could remind one of 'The Godfather', although the story is set in contemporary Brooklyn and unfolds differently. It all starts when Gio (Shiloh Fernandez) must take a traditional birthday cake to his mobster uncle's (Val Kilmer) house. However, along the way, he gets tangled in his cousin's conflicts, which eventually leads him to uncover what happened to his father a decade before. Ultimately it is very far from being a reference of mafia films, but it is a proposal that entertains with its intrigue and performances from a cast that also includes Ewan McGregor and Penn Badgley."
