Filmed over a period of 7 years, it tells about a group of suburban friends getting together during the summers. They reflect on their future, their ambitions and their sexual desires. We meet up with them 5 years later, then 1 year later. Flashwood, a story of youth trying to find the course of their live.
"Remember the creative process of 'Boyhood', in which Richard Linklater wrote while filming with the same actors over 12 years? Now imagine that, but applied to a group of young people from Montreal, Canada, over seven years. This is, in sum, the premise of '7 Verões' ('Flashwood'). By its very nature, the narrative of the feature film seems a bit scattered, like a patchwork quilt of somewhat disconnected stories (and some of them unfinished). On the other hand, it is a curious cinematic experience that compensates for its deficiencies with authenticity in its performances, which would not be possible in another project."
