"'Silverton Siege' is a South African movie set in the 1980s, when Nelson Mandela was fighting for the end of the racist apartheid system that put him in prison. The feature film, inspired by real events, follows the story of three young freedom fighters fleeing from the police - after an anti-apartheid attack went wrong - who hide in a bank taking the customers hostage. They demanded Mandela's release in exchange for the 25 people held captive. It is an action production with a solid background, but it ends up falling into certain Hollywood clichés, such as having a "good" and a "bad" policeman. In this scenario, there is a whole discussion about the idealism of the kidnappers and also the fascism present in the police. In short, it is a production that deserves attention."
