Frodo and Sam are trekking to Mordor to destroy the One Ring of Power while Gimli, Legolas and Aragorn search for the orc-captured Merry and Pippin. All along, nefarious wizard Saruman awaits the Fellowship members at the Orthanc Tower in Isengard.

"The middle chapter of the iconic trilogy of The Lord of the Rings, by Peter Jackson, is perhaps the least acclaimed of the three, but it is no less spectacular. The story of The Two Towers resumes right where The Fellowship of the Ring left off: Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) separate from the group to venture towards Mordor, while Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) pursue Saruman's (Christopher Lee) forces towards Rohan. Due to its middle position in the trilogy, the structure of The Two Towers may feel uneven and even inconclusive, but it couldn't be any other way. The movie wonderfully adapts Tolkien's narration, with spectacular sequences like the Battle of Helm's Deep, and introducing crucial and unforgettable characters like Gollum (Andy Serkis)."
