Why watch the movie Mija?
"This is a documentary selected at the Sundance Film Festival and later acquired by Disney as an exclusive production of its streaming platform, signaling that the Mickey Mouse studio is interested in offering different views on Disney+ on relevant issues such as the situation of immigrants in the United States. However, 'My Daughters' is not about immigrants themselves, but rather an intimate and simple portrait of these communities in their pursuit of their dreams. The story follows Doris Muñoz, a woman who seeks out and manages musical talent from the Latin community. That's how she meets Jacks Haupt, an up-and-coming singer who is willing to leave her family in Texas behind to become a music star."
