"German production about one of the country's darkest periods, World War II. 'Der Pfad' follows two children, Rolf and Nuria, and a dog fleeing from the Nazis. The premise seems a bit like 'Jojo Rabbit', but not quite: here the focus is more dramatic. The child actors are very good, transporting us into the story with convincing performances. Their journey is captivating and emotional, like any movie dealing with this era. The ending is a bit sentimental, but it ends up being the best possible result."
