The Pope's Exorcist

"Gabriele Amorth was an Italian priest considered one of the greatest names in exorcism. He inspired the priest in 'The Exorcist' and, in real life, he witnessed, participated in, and performed a series of exorcisms: he said it was Satan who should have been afraid of him, not the other way around. His story comes to the screens, more faithfully than freely adapted, with the horror movie 'The Pope's Exorcist'. In the plot, Amorth is called to help an American family in Spain, who suffer with their youngest son possessed by a strong demon. With a sharp and unexpected humor, with Amorth adding small jokes throughout the story, the film manages to scare and entertain at the same time. The ending is too spectacular, reminiscent of what happens in the 'The Conjuring' franchise, but it works as a good way to feel scared and have fun in the darkness of the cinema (or at home)."
