Why watch the movie The Monkey King?
"An animated co-production between the United States and China, exclusive to Netflix, inspired by the 16th century Chinese novel "Journey to the West" (which, among other things, is deeply rooted in Chinese folk religion and inspired Dragon Ball's original incarnation). "The Monkey King" is essentially an adventure movie that follows its titular character on his journey to overcome a series of trials and thus find his place amongst the gods. Its frantic pace - especially in the third act - may be too much for less patient viewers, but younger audiences seeking a colorful and fun adventure will find what they're looking for here."
