Mulholland Drive

"Named one of the 100 best films of the century by The New York Times. Mulholland Drive is, for many, David Lynch’s masterpiece — a filmmaker known for his surreal, haunting style that’s as unmistakable as it is impossible to replicate. As with much of his work, the plot here is anything but straightforward, even if it seems so at first glance: a woman (Laura Harring) survives a car crash on Mulholland Drive and is left with amnesia. Meanwhile, a bright-eyed aspiring actress (Naomi Watts) arrives in Hollywood chasing her big break. But once their paths cross, the story spirals into a mystery that pulls the narrative into increasingly twisted, fragmented, eerie, and self-aware territory. The film serves as the centerpiece of Lynch’s loosely connected trilogy exploring the darker side of Hollywood and has been described as “a poisoned love letter to the film industry.” The answers aren’t clear-cut or easy to sum up — but one thing’s for sure: watching this film feels a lot like waking up from a nightmare."
