Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes with Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission. Forced to confront the darkest corners of their pasts, will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite before it’s too late?

"Thunderbolts* is, in short, one of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which, it must be said, has had a very low standard since the so-called "Phase 3." The film brings together several antiheroes and villains from other installments in the saga, such as Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), the Red Guardian (David Harbour), among others, all involved in a plot by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and forced to work together to survive and fight against a much greater threat. Marvel Studios attempts here a surprisingly human and emotional story, with good direction in the action sequences and a more refined cinematography (by Andrew Droz Palermo, the cinematographer for films like A Ghost Story and The Green Knight), all brought to fruition thanks to a cast that humanizes even the least developed characters (Pugh and Lewis Pullman are phenomenal here). That said, the same thing happens as with other Marvel films, hindered by the weight of their broader narrative, distracting from what could have been a much more human story. In the end, it turns out to be a bit more of the same but with a bit more humanity and freshness, making it better than the past five years of the MCU."
