Lee Hayden is a Western icon with a golden voice, but his best performances are decades behind him. He spends his days reliving old glories and smoking too much weed with his former-co-star, Jeremy, until a surprise cancer diagnosis brings his priorities into sharp focus.
"Sam Elliott (from 'We Were Heroes' and 'The Hired Gun') delivers a great performance in 'The Hero', a story about a past-era movie legend who discovers he has cancer, which forces him to reevaluate his life, decisions and priorities - as well as start a relationship with a much younger woman. The cast also features Laura Prepon (‘That 70’s Show’) and Krysten Ritter (‘Jessica Jones’). You may feel a sense of déjà vu, as the script has its clichés and the epiphany after being discharged from the doctors is something common in cinema, but the performances - especially Elliott's - ensure an emotional feature film."
