Why watch this film?
Stranded on a deserted island, a family of four scavenges for survival as their past unravels, sending them into a downward spiral of painful events.
"The Sand Castle is a Lebanese production directed by American Matty Brown, with actress and director Nadine Labaki (Capernaum) also starring. The plot follows a family of four who find themselves trapped, for some reason, on a deserted island as they struggle to survive. At the same time, their painful past begins to be revealed. With a mystery reminiscent of an M. Night Shyamalan film, the movie has a delicate background, and its storytelling is somewhat labyrinthine, making it easy to get lost at times. However, it is intriguing for its ambition and structure, and it may appeal to those who enjoy mysteries with non-linear narratives."
