Why watch this film?
An orphaned teenager traverses the American West with a sweet, but mysterious robot, and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother.
"The Electric State is an epic science fiction adventure directed by the Russo brothers (Avengers: Endgame) for Netflix, adapting the graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stålenhag. The plot is set in an alternate version of the 90s, where advanced robots exist but have been exiled for rebelling against humanity. The protagonist is a teenager (Millie Bobby Brown, from Stranger Things), who must travel through the West with a robot and a drifter (Chris Pratt) to find her brother. It’s a visually spectacular production, though filled with clichés. It’s not exactly an imaginative film, but if you enjoy flashy special effects or are a fan of Brown or Pratt, you’ll find something to enjoy here."
