Jiangnan's top painter Zhu Xiaolian meets Weisheng in a mural and falls in love while foiling a sparrow demon's plot. Weisheng is a phoenix goddess, and to defeat the sparrow demon, Zhu sacrifices himself to help Weisheng achieve Nirvana.
