In the 1990s, Pingxi Town in Southwest China, public security was maintained by the joint defense team. The father of the joint defense team leader Li Lizhong died unexpectedly. At the same time, a strange serial dog killing case occurred in the town. Li Lizhong led the team to investigate with poor detective techniques. Through a series of absurd actions, Li Lizhong discovered that the dog killing case was inextricably linked to his father's death. In that barbaric era, Li Lizhong could only answer the truth with silence.
