One hint, 6 chances, and a new movie to guess every day
When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they're forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer isn't exactly concerned with surprising or being an original slasher. While the twist about who the killer is is good, the film doesn't innovate in any way: it's a sort of remake of the 1997 film that, above all, repeats the same creative decisions from the last 30 years of the Scream franchise. After all, it repeats the narrative basis of the original 1996 "rival" film, as well as copying what worked in the 2022 Ghost Face revival by bringing back actors from the original film like Freddie Prinze Jr. It all feels very similar, repeated, as if I Know What You Did Last Summer were just a mimicry, an imitation. But at least the story of the killer dressed as a Fisherman is entertaining. For nearly two hours, director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson leaves the audience guessing about the personality of this villain, who, once again, begins killing a group of people involved in a car accident. Nothing new, nothing groundbreaking. But at least it provides a few laughs and surprises—including an over-the-top, but worthwhile, cameo."
