"Continuation of 'Pacific Rim', but without the presence of Guillermo Del Toro as director - due to studio bureaucratic issues, the movie was delayed and the filmmaker chose to pursue 'The Shape of Water'. The world may have gained an incredible, Oscar-winning production, but 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' sadly lost the touch and density given by its own creator. Unfortunately, the film just revisits the best moments of the first part, without much creativity and innovation. Still, it is a spectacle of special effects, with the always exciting fights between monsters and giant robots - drinking from the source of classics like 'Neon Genesis Evangelion', 'Mobile Suit Gundam', 'Patlabor' and the like."
