"Long before the superhero movie craze, director Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) adapted the comic book character created by Dave Stevens to the big screen. Set in 1938, it tells the story of a pilot, Cliff, who steals a jetpack to battle Nazis attacking Los Angeles. It was inspired by the pulps -- inexpensive publications that entertained audiences with simple yet thrilling stories, a vibe that's very much alive in the film. This gives it an intentional B-movie feel, which makes everything even more interesting."
