However, in the original, Paul Kersey was an architect - and now a doctor. That's not all that has changed: the story borrows many elements from anti-heroes like The Punisher, looking to ride the wave of superhero movies. The result is a feature film that loses all that social register and story of a dark time on the streets of America's major cities, which earned harsh criticism from the press. Even so, it will appeal to Bruce Willis fans or fans of vigilante films."
