Why watch the movie Mom?
"This Indian film takes off from a real-life drama: that of rape culture in society. From there, it builds the story of a mother willing to go up against everyone and everything to get her revenge. It's a story of brutality that will shock you, but also one that attempts to construct a neo-noir thriller environment to keep the viewer engaged. It is not one of the most innovative films you'll watch, nor anything of the sort, but it is a beautiful construction from a problem that needs to be discussed. Also noteworthy is the captivating incidental score by A.R. Rahman (Oscar winner for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’) and the beautiful cinematography."
