Why watch the movie Patria?
"Writer Paco Ignacio Taibo II brings his trilogy of books 'Pátria' to the documentary format, showing us the events that took place in the 1850s and 1860s that helped define the modern concept of Mexico, as a nation, defining its people and its history. More than a historical account, the film helps us understand the origins of Mexican culture and politics - which, like it or not, have many similarities with Brazilian culture. A great way to dive into our Latin American identity."
