My film is a hero's journey. The heroine, after fighting her way back from a horrible life in foster care, lives life in a shell. She is pushed into a journey where she must overcome obstacles that encase her inferiority. It is through the process of dancing ballet on her own and in ballet class that the heroine, Rafaela, overcomes the obstacles presented her, and she crosses a threshold into healing , growing and solving problems and moving into an enlightened state.
