One hint, 6 chances, and a new movie to guess every day
Cameron Thompson, a reclusive drummer-boy, hears his athletically and academically prestigious sister, Mara, purging in the bathroom. Pressured to keep her increasingly destructive behaviors a secret from the world, his own anxiety and brokenness becomes ever more apparent as he deals with a disruptive asthma that only seems to get worse and worse the longer he keeps his feelings from himself, from the world, from Mara... Who has grown increasingly isolated from those she loves in fear of her own brokenness. Partly inspired by his guidance counselor, Cameron confronts and connects with Mara about his feelings after she falls during a track practice, where her true brokenness is no longer something she, or Cameron, can run from. Unable to admit to her his true feelings, unable to break things, Cameron's regret and anxiety spirals into a brokenness that mirrors the behavior of Mara. It is only at their lowest point, at their most alone, where Cameron and Mara come together as a brother and sister, and see that they were never really alone, that they were never really too broken to be loved.
