"'Grand-Daddy Day Care' brings many former movie and TV stars (such as Hal Linden, Linda Gray, and George Wendt) and, in that sense, has some value as a "veterans' reunion". However, the feature film overplays and addresses worn-out stereotypes of the elderly. If those old and repetitive jokes don't bother you, you can watch a movie that, in its defense, deals with issues such as Alzheimer's without ridiculing or minimizing the problem. Moreover, the prospect of having Danny Trejo ('Machete') as a father-in-law is very funny in itself, so you'll find something to laugh at here if you just want to have a simple comedy."
