An estranged couple reunite in a Florida police station to help find their missing teenage son.
"Kendra and Scott are a former interracial couple whose son disappears in the middle of the night without a trace. Worried and anxious in the waiting room of the police station, Kendra not only has to deal with the tense relationship with her ex-husband and the disappearance of her son; she also has to face the prejudices and racism of the police. In other words, it couldn't be more timely. To do this, director Kenny Leon seeks to create a claustrophobic atmosphere. Unfortunately, 'American Son' gets lost in its noble objectives, forgetting to focus on its own story."
