Why watch the movie L'avventura?
"Awarded the Jury Prize at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival, Michelangelo Antonioni's sixth film, 'La Aventura', was a total challenge to the cinematic and narrative conventions of its time. The movie stands out for its unusual pacing and a story that completely deviates from the traditional, instead focusing on pictorial composition, atmosphere creation, and character relation. It's not exactly a movie to watch if you're looking for a traditional romance, but observe its framing, narrative structure (or lack thereof) and the way it directs action in front of the camera, and you'll conclude that its innovations in film language have left an indelible mark on the seventh art."
