"On the surface, 'The Triple Threat' looks like any other action movie, with shootouts and explosions aplenty. However, it also has a touch of martial arts that, while not quite fitting in with the millionaire and mercenary plot, is by far its most notable element. This is due to having an action choreographer as director (Jesse V. Johnson), and three rising stars from martial arts cinema: Thai Tony Jaa, Indonesian Iko Uwais, and Chinese Tiger Chen. It's not an essential classic of action cinema, but it is very well executed in terms of hand-to-hand combat. "
