Hristo Smyrnenski is a left-wing poet. He has tuberculosis. Smyrnenski receives an offer to take a diplomatic job abroad and receive medical treatment. The purpose of this proposal is to break away Smyrnensky from the proletarian milieu. The poet understands the truth and refuses. A few months later, he died - he was only 27 years old.
