'The Beach Bum' is another step in this direction, with Matthew McConaughey giving one of his most trippy performances yet, even if the script doesn't help him. The plot keeps its foot in the absurd, which may frustrate many viewers, but if you want to see something more original than the typical "stoner comedies" like 'Pineapple Express', you will appreciate this eclectic cast which also includes Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Jonah Hill, Zac Efron, and Martin Lawrence."
