'True Detective' Season 5 Officially Confirms Its Leads

Although he hasn't been as omnipresent on-screen, Nicolas Cage is having an eventful 2026. Back in the spring, he took on his role as a television regular in Spider-Noir, becoming the titular Spider, aka Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private detective and superhero in 1930s New York who's both a similar, yet very different variant of the character he voiced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Widespread acclaim ultimately wasn't enough to stop Prime Video from canceling the series after one season, but he's not done playing a sleuth. He finally confirmed at New York Comic Con that he would be starring in Season 5 of HBO's hit anthology True Detective in the role of Henry Logan.
