Du-jin the sailor meets Eun-ju, the fish market girl who sells more than fish, at a bar. She escapes from Heuksan Island when he stows her away. The two get married on the ship and find marital bliss. But Madam Maigori has sent word so when they dock in Mokpo, Eun-ju is caught and sent to another island. She's shifted from one island to the next until settling on Younpyung Island. While her husband searches for her the island is overrun by boats, and there's more sailors than women. Eun-ju has to fill in and finds Eun-ju when she's sent to service a room. Ashamed, she runs off, and Du-jin follows. Will Du-jin be able to pay off hers debts? Will their marriage be broken apart?
