Filmmaker Elia Suleiman travels to different cities and finds unexpected parallels to his homeland of Palestine.

"One of the best and most curious films of 2019, 'It Must Be Heaven' is a totally off-standard comedy. Directed, written and starred by Elia Suleiman, the feature film proposes to do one single thing: draw parallels between Palestine with other countries, such as France and the United States. From that, Suleiman shows how the world sees his country of origin in a stereotyped way, while "more civilized" places do brutal things and are not condemned for it. It is delicate, intimate and, above all, brings an intelligent humor that takes advantage of silences and human misery to produce laughter, in a mix of French cinema with Charlie Chaplin. It received a special mention from the jury at the Cannes Festival."
