Several of the songs from the movie have achieved iconic status, such as 'You're the One that I Want' (one of the best-selling singles of all time), 'Summer Nights', and 'Hopelessly Devoted to You', which earned the movie its only Oscar nomination. Even if some of the situations depicted in it may be problematic for 21st century audiences, 'Grease' is an essential classic for fans of musicals (and for those who prefer the romantic vision of the fifties and sixties)."
