Why watch the movie He Got Game?
"With He Got Game, go to director Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing) in his third collaboration with great Denzel Washington (Malcolm X), now in a more focused melodrama on the relationship between a father and his estranged son (portrayed by professional basketball player Ray Allen). The characters grapple with complex moral issues of integrity and family loyalty, facing a system that plays with the lives of the marginalized – generally the underprivileged – in favor of a few. It may be less belligerent than Lee's previous films, but it still offers a timely social commentary through a well-written and acted drama."
