WWE and Marvel Collide: ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Takes Over Worlds Collide in a Surprise Disney World Crossover

Wrestling and superhero movies have always borrowed from each other, with oversized heroes, brutal rivalries and plenty of spectacle. Now the two worlds are officially colliding. WWE and Marvel have joined forces for an ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ tie-in that turns a wrestling card into a movie promotion. The movie in question is the next giant Marvel crossover, set to open in U.S. theaters on December 18. It follows heroes from three universes on what Marvel describes as a deadly collision course, with Robert Downey Jr. playing Victor von Doom. Disney clearly wants to build a lot of noise ahead of that release. On November 3, WWE and The Walt Disney Company announced

10 Biggest Thanksgiving Weekend Box Office Openings of All Time

Every November, Hollywood sets a table for the whole family. The five days from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving through Sunday are among the most lucrative on the American theatrical calendar. Schools are out, relatives are home, and a trip to the movies is one of the few outings that suits three generations at once. No studio has understood this better than Disney. Nine of the ten biggest Thanksgiving openings in history are Disney or Pixar animated features. The holiday has become, in effect, the studio’s annual address to the nation. Clint Eastwood’s Best Movie of 2010s With Olivia Wilde Officially Lands on Netflix

Clint Eastwood spent the 2010s directing many true stories. From a sniper in a war to three young Americans on a train stopping a terrorist attack to an 87-year-old dr*g mule, Eastwood covered them all. However, the best of the decade remains his movie based on the Centennial Olympic Park Bombing, Richard Jewell, and it is out now on Netflix. The film stars Paul Walter Hauser, Olivia Wilde, Jon Hamm, Sam Rockwell, and Kathy Bates in lead roles. While Eastwood’s last few movies have been a hit or a miss, Richard Jewell brought back the filmmaker’s penchant for empathetic portrayals of true-blue American lives, amidst a larger-than-life incident.

Before ‘Jumanji,’ Dwayne Johnson’s Wild Adventure Movie Officially Hits Prime Video

There was a time when Dwayne Johnson was still trying to convince Hollywood that he could be more than just the enormous wrestling superstar who liked raising his eyebrow at people, and one of his earliest leading roles remains among his most entertaining. Very early in his leading man career, Johnson headed into the jungle for an adventure that combined the treasure hunting of Indiana Jones with the unlikely buddy comedy of Lethal Weapon. That movie is The Rundown, from the prolific action director Peter Berg, which is available on Prime Video. The film follows Beck, a fixer and a remover of problems.
