Noah Schnapp in Official Trailer for Young Aspiring Chef Drama 'Abe'

"You are mixing 'fusion' with 'confusion'." Blue Fox Entertainment has unveiled the trailer for a fun family film titled simply Abe, which originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year in the Sundance Kids section. Abe is a 12-year-old boy from Brooklyn, an aspiring chef who is half-Israeli, half-Palestinian. He decides to cook a meal to unite his mixed family, but everything goes wrong. Surprise, surprise. Starring talented young actor Noah Schnapp as Abe, and a full cast including Seu Jorge, Mark Margolis, Arian Moayed, Dagmara Dominczyk, Salem Murphy, Tom Mardirosian, Daniel Oreskes, plus Gero Camilo. It's rather nice to see Seu Jorge in this as a chef he look up to, smart casting for that role. And the food in here looks delicious. I want to eat it all! This also reminds me of the story of Chef Flynn. Get a taste. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Fernando Grostein Andrade's Abe,

Be It Trans, Gay Or J Lo's Bf, Rodrigo Santoro Is No Ordinary Heartthrob

Rodrigo Santoro at the What To Expect When You're Expecting UK premiere It would be easy to sum up sexy Rodrigo Santoro as yet another actor with a pretty face and great body but in the eclectic career the Brazilian/Italian actor has been building with various movie roles over the past few years, Santoro is proving to be the kind of the actor that offers up much more than a cinema heartthrob. Looking back at his past projects, he played Laura Linney’s spectacled love interest in Love, Actually, a transsexual in Hector Babenco’s 2003 film, Carandiru, a castaway on the hit series Lost, bared his stellar physique for the role of Xerxes in the 2007 film, 300,and is currently making audiences swoon in the rom-com What To Expect When You’re Expecting. While What To Expect has him paired with Jennifer Lopez as a couple preparing for their lives

Tiff Picks 09: Suzana Amaral's Hotel Atlantico

* #9. Hotel Atlantico Director: Suzana Amaral Cast: Júlio Andrade, João Miguel, Mariana Ximenes, Gero Camilo, Marcia Martins, Helena Ignez, Luis GuilhermeDistributor: Rights Available. Buzz: Amaral might be considered the Terrence Malick of Brazil - not for her style, but her total output of films. Born in 1932, she first came onto the scene with The Hour of the Star in 86', and Hotel Atlantico is only her third feature film. Tiff's Latin film programmer Diana Sanchez mentions that there is "a palpable Lynchian aura to the film, with a vaguely defined threat seeping through the scenes. At the same time, the narrative and the performers are going with the flow, exuding a “living in the moment” energy that may be due to Amaral's Buddhist beliefs." In general, I'm a fan of "drifter" films (e.g. Antonioni's The Passenger) and I'm sold on the trailer - which you can check out below.
