Hunter Schafer Reveals She Had Gender-Affirming Bottom Surgery

Hunter Schafer has undergone bottom surgery, the “Euphoria” star revealed. “I just had bottom surgery in December, which was amazing, and I love it so much,” Schafer told Elle magazine, referring to the gender-affirming operation that alters a person’s genitals to align with their gender identity. “For a long time I’ve embraced the gender-expansive part of myself, and I really wanted to try to make that previous body work, because I thought there was something really cool and badass about it,” she said. But, according to Elle, Schafer described “hitting a wall again and again where this theoretical queer utopia didn’t match up with the world she encountered every day, and the way she personally wanted to show up in it.” And so while every trans person is different, a medical transition was the right decision for Schafer. Schafer described that ability to evolve as the “magical

Blade Runner 2099 Turns The Original Film’s World On Its Head: ‘We’re Doing Sunshine Noir’

The world painted in Ridley Scott’s original classic Blade Runner is impossible to forget – dank and rain-drenched, vast and awe-inspiring, futuristic but recognisable. And it served for the backdrop to an existential odyssey for Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard, a ‘Blade Runner’ who’s assigned to hunt down a rogue group of ‘replicants’, artificial humans who are running loose in the film’s then-future 2019 Los Angeles. Then, in 2017 we got an evolution of the world in Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049. And now, in Prime Video’s limited series Blade Runner 2099 – set, you guessed it, 80 years after the original – the status quo of the world has entirely changed.

‘Euphoria’ Star Hunter Schafer Opens Up About Her Gender-Affirming Surgery in a Candid New Interview

Hunter Schafer has spent much of her career balancing a very public profile with a fiercely private personal life. Since breaking out as Jules Vaughn in HBO’s ‘Euphoria’, the actress, model, and activist has become one of the most visible transgender performers in Hollywood, all while choosing carefully what she shares with the world. Her advocacy began long before fame.
