In this prequel to The Hunger Games, a young Coriolanus is the last hope for the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. "Even though it extended too much in its last chapter, the Hunger Games franchise is very closed, with a good story developing Katniss's (Jennifer Lawrence) journey. Now, staying in the same universe, in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes we follow the story of the saga's biggest villain: President Snow. No longer in old age, played by Donald Sutherland, but in his youth, now played by the talented Tom Blyth. It's a story of personality creation, in which we follow this much-hated character in development — from his harsh childhood, to his youthful brilliance and the complicated romance of Lucy Gray (Rachel Zegler, the film's weak point). Filmmaker Francis Lawrence, who directed all the other films in the franchise, returns to the director's chair and does a good job, bringing elements that have already been successful (such as games, the best scene in the film) with other new features, such as unexpected musical scenes ."
