Before Jason Voorhees became the iconic, brutal slasher who would spend decades slaughtering people on screen, he was apparently a cutie pie.
Peacock and A24’s Crystal Lake, now streaming in full, introduces us to young Jason, played by Callum Vinson (Chucky), before the tragedy at the lake. And for those of you who can’t get enough of the little guy, Peacock has provided Dread Central with a batch of officially approved photos capturing this very different side of the future killer.
The first episode gives us Jason running through a cabin with his mother, Pamela, played by Linda Cardellini, as he playfully wields a machete, along with quieter moments of him curling up in her arms for hugs. Those scenes have been getting plenty of love on social media, where fans are finding themselves attached to the boy beneath the future hockey mask.
