Zach Cregger Was “Frustrated” by the ‘Resident Evil’ Conversation… and He Has a Point

Zach Cregger says he was frustrated that so much of the conversation around his Resident Evil movie had nothing to do with the movie itself. And considering how much we’ve already written about this on Dread Central, I don’t blame him. The filmmaker behind Barbarian and Weapons discussed the reaction during an appearance on The Town with Matthew Belloni, with IGN sharing these comments. “I think I was frustrated at the conversation around Resident Evil and how much of the conversation really didn’t have anything to do with the movie,” Cregger said. “It had everything to do with whether the movie was living up to the different standards that different fans of the games had. Whether it was using the characters or not, or what did I get wrong in the lore?” “All the conversation just felt like it was about not the movie.” Cregger hasn’t completely ruled out another adaptation.

Kevin Costner Battled Bill Paxton In This Acclaimed Civil War-Era Western Series

In May 2012, The History Channel did something different. Instead of airing documentaries, the cable network premiered a limited drama series starring two A-list movie stars in Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton. Though somewhat forgotten over a decade later, the "Hatfields & McCoys" miniseries was a gigantic ratings and awards sensation. Airing as a trio of two-hour episodes, the Western miniseries dramatized the infamous historical feud between the titular families. For three decades in the late 1800s, the Hatfields of West Virginia fought with their Kentucky rivals the McCoys over grudges, land disputes, and an escalating series of revenge killings that

Seth Rogen teases Season 2 of ‘The Studio’ and Madonna’s ‘wonderful and meta’ storyline: ‘Hardest-working person I’ve ever met’

Seth Rogen is spilling some details about Season 2 of his Emmy-winning comedy The Studio. During an appearance this week at the Scad Savannah Film Festival, the actor-director-producer admitted he was nervous about the first season during production "because everything I’d learned about comedy was that you shoot with several cameras and construct the timing in the edit." For The Studio and its extensive use of one-shot takes, "we were removing our ability to do that entirely." But the success validated their concept, which they carried even further into Season 2, expected to premiere early next year. "The first season taught us that our ambition and the specificity of our vision could work,

DC Studios boss James Gunn wants an actor, not a movie star, for a Batman around Superman’s age

For decades, Hollywood has cast its two flagship superheroes by opposite rules. Christopher Reeve was a little-known stage and soap actor when he first put on the cape, and Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill and David Corenswet all arrived without marquee billing. The cowl has gone the other way: Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson were famous names before they ever played Bruce Wayne. James Gunn now says the DC Universe will break that habit. In an advance clip from “The Suicide Squad: Is It Canon? The Official Podcast,” the DC Studios co-chief said the search for his Batman is close and dismissed fan theories that
