Nicolas Cage & Justin Long in 'Best Pancakes in the County' Full Trailer

"Let the showdown begin..." IFC Films has revealed the first official trailer for a wacky new crime comedy titled Best Pancakes in the County, made by the producer / filmmaker Ken Sanzel. This looks like some direct-to-bargain-bin junk that is only being given a chance because it stars Nicolas Cage – who is wearing a ridiculous nose prosthetic in here. But why? Is that how this guy really looks or are they just playing up the wackiness? "How many more crooked feds could there possibly be...?" After a botched FBI heist, a cunning criminal returns to a remote diner (supposedly with the best pancakes in the county?) where rival assassins, corrupt agents

The Criterion Channel’s November Lineup Features Nicolas Cage, Jeremy Thomas, Roy Andersson & More

The Criterion Channel’s three big retrospectives for November are not director-centric, but each comprise entire film histories of their own. A Nicolas Cage series spans some of his earliest films to auteurist favorites to later oddities. Meanwhile, a Gene Tierney program is a who’s-who of mid-century auteur: Jacques Tourneur, Jules Dassin, Otto Preminger, John M. Stahl, Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Proving that auteurs come in more shapes and sizes, the late, great Jeremy Thomas is celebrated through his finest producing work: The Shout, Bad Timing, The Hit, Sexy Beast, The Last Emperor, Eo, and Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence among them. There are a few director programs, still. With All of a Sudden

‘Spider Noir’ Star Nicolas Cage Just Picked a Side in the Great Spider-Man Showdown, and Fans Are Already Fighting About It

Few debates in fandom are as reliably heated as the one over who wears the Spider-Man suit best. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland all have loyal camps, and every few months a new voice tosses fuel on the fire. The argument has been running for years, and it shows no sign of cooling down. This time, the voice belongs to someone who knows the character from a very unusual angle. Nicolas Cage first voiced Spider-Man Noir in the animated ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and later brought the character to live action in ‘Spider-Noir.’ That makes his opinion carry extra weight, even if his character isn’t technically called Spider-Man.
