Substitute the title 'The Boys in The Band: Um Olhar Pessoal' with 'The Boys in The Band: Something Personal'. Playwright Mart Crowley passed away in March 2020, but his stories have been immortalized on Broadway stages and in cinemas. Crowley proved to be ahead of his time when he wrote 'The Boys in the Band', a play that stood out for talking about gays in the 1960s, a time when the LGBT community was marginalized by society. The documentary shows his reunion with the cast that brought his story back to the theater in 2018. With an all-LGBT cast, 'The Boys in the Band' once again proved to be an extremely relevant work. Crowley did not get to see the finished Netflix movie, but 'The Boys in the Band: Something Personal' shows what the work meant and how much he would have liked to see it on the screens again.
