Why watch this film?
In Pixar's canon of films, 'The Good Dinosaur' was released in an unfavorable period to make it take off: the same year as the hugely successful 'Inside Out', between poorly acclaimed sequels from the animation studio and, worse yet, two years after 'The Croods', a similar and successful bet from DreamWorks rivals. Although much less propositive than the best Pixar movies, 'The Good Dinosaur' at least has in its favor having been an original proposal in a period plagued with sequels, with a beautiful story of friendship and courage that is enough to fascinate the youngest members of the family.

In a similar vein to Inside Out and Soul, Elemental is a Pixar animation that uses anthropomorphic characters to tell us an allegory. In this case, the studio employs people made of water, fire, air, and earth to create a metaphor about diversity and intolerance in civilizations. The story follows Ember, a fire girl who is preparing to inherit her father's shop, an immigrant in the Element City, when things start to go wrong. She teams up with Wade, a water boy, to solve a series of problems, and the pair begins to fall in love despite water and fire not mixing. Even though the film explores themes that have been seen in other Pixar and Disney films, the story is tender, and the animation is beautiful, so fans of the studio will love it.

Robot Dreams
Sometimes we get so carried away by the marketing power of studios like Disney Pixar, and we overlook other avenues for deep and powerful animated stories that don't need excessively complex plots to evoke emotions. Such is the case with Robot Dreams, a Hispanic-French production directed by Pablo Berger (2012’s Snow White), based on the eponymous graphic novel by Sara Varon. Set in New York during the 80s, the story follows Dog, whose solitary life leads him to buy a robot for companionship. Their friendship grows, but an unfortunate day at the beach forces them to separate and long for the day of their reunion. Virtually without dialogue, with vibrant animation and a captivating visual language, the film tells a simple yet profoundly moving story about (curiously) human relationships and the course they take despite (or because of) accidents, fortuitous circumstances, and uncontrollable events that happen throughout life.
Masha and the Bear: Twice the Fun
Masha leaves the forest in pursuit of an adventure in the city, where she encounters many unexpected situations and surprises while attending a wedding, and later seeks to do everything in her power to save Christmas.
