Why watch this film?
Generally, movies about psychopaths follow tense and extensive investigations from the view of police officers. It's the typical cat-and-mouse movie, where the FBI good guy tries to catch these criminals who don't think twice before hurting someone. But 'Unhinged', starring Russell Crowe ('Gladiator'), breaks all those rules of psychopath movies. Here, director Derrick Borte ('American Dreamer') dives into the story of a psychopath (Crowe) involved in a traffic dispute. That's right. In 'Unhinged', the criminal chooses his victims from everyday tensions, like those arguments that happen at a red light. The pace of the movie is intense, with some breath-holding moments. Highlight for Crowe, absolutely unrecognizable, and for Caren Pistorius ('No Man's Land'), the psychopath's victim of the day. Fun and scary in equal measures, 'Unhinged' is a good pastime - and, who knows, it may make you think twice before fighting in traffic.
