Why watch this film?

In 1988, a new group revolutionized music and pop culture, transforming and influencing hip hop forever. The first album of N.W.A, "Straight Outta Compton", caused controversy with its honesty about life in South Los Angeles. Guided by veteran manager Jerry Heller, the group members Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, DJ Yella and MC Ren navigate the music industry, gain fame, fortune and a place in history. It is this journey that is told in a direct and talented way in 'Straight Outta Compton'. In the feature film, despite the exaggerated 2h47 duration, director F. Gary Gray ('Fast & Furious 8') manages to imprint strength and personality in this story so important for American music and the black community living in the United States.
