Why watch this film?

Science fiction is undoubtedly one of the most overlooked genres of national cinema. After all, aside from titles like 'A Repartição do Tempo', 'O 5º Poder', 'Branco Sai, Preto Fica' and 'O Homem do Futuro', there are very few other examples of science fiction with the Brazilian seal. That's why it's so interesting, and important, this production from Mato Grosso's Bruno Bini. 'Loop', which resembles a kind of 'O Predestinado', tells the story of Daniel (Bruno Gagliasso), a young man who is as passionate about the theme of time travel as he is about his girlfriend (Bia Arantes), Maria Luiza. So, depression and despair come without mercy when the young woman is murdered. Daniel does not accept destiny. So, he decides to invest fully in time travel to prevent the crime. From then on, Bini plays with the effects of temporal travel in a lean plot, but with insight. Despite the strong North American influence, with a "face" of Hollywood cinematography, Bini brings some interesting ideas to the logic of a time traveler in Brazil - the notion that the 2013 protests will lead to "nothing", the surprise at Donald Trump's election, the confusion with Temer in power. It is a film that, without a doubt, breaks prejudices about national cinema. Finally, it is worth noting that it is good to keep an eye on Bruno Bini. Good things are coming.
